FED:Abbott keeps pressure on Labor

Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD is about to face the media as pressure continues on her
government over the CRAIG THOMSON affair.

Ms GILLARD will hold a media conference at 9.30am (AEST) and is certain to be asked
about the backbencher, whose credit card was misused to pay for escorts while he was president
of the Health Services Union.

Mr THOMSON'S denied using the card himself, but the opposition says Ms GILLARD has
questions to answer about the Labor party's payment of his legal fees in a defamation
suit against Fairfax Media, who first reported the story.
