Vic: Free travel on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve

Victoria's Country and city travellers will ride for free on public transport on Christmas
Day and New Year's Eve this year.

Melbourne's tram .. train and bus services will also run all night on New Year's Eve.

State Transport Minister LYNNE KOSKY says the government's offering the free services
for the third year in a row .. to help ease pressure on the roads.

She's urged people to leave their cars at home and take advantage of the free services.

Country V/Line passengers will travel free on Christmas Day and on services arriving
in Melbourne after 6pm on New Year's Eve .. as well as on the first service on January
1, 2008.
