- After a horror weekend on the roads, police will flood the streets to curb outrageous
driving as part of their Easter campaign.
- Serial killer Francis Faye will probably die in jail after he was given a life sentence
for the brutal slaying of two prostitutes.
- The planned route of a road to carry heavy trucks to and from a quarry on Brisbane's
western outskirts has enraged local residents. They say hundreds of trucks servicing the
proposed Kholo Creek Quarry will ruin their quiet neighbourhoods.
- Despite the evidence of a former Australian Wheat Board boss, Alexander Downer has
denied any knowledge wheat board money ended up in the pockets of the ruthless dictator,
Saddam Hussein.
- Detainees in Sydney's Villawood Detention Centre have been freed, but only briefly.
It's been closed for asbestos contamination but some of the detainees are refusing to
go.
