To the editor: We were surprised at the tone and, frankly, the comments of the analyst quoted in your Nov. 1 article regarding managing general agents, "Reinsurers' Return to Using MGAs Raising Questions." While only a few insurance practitioners are incompetent or crooks, as in any business or profession, likewise not every MGA, as alluded to by the article, is "out of control."
