Fed: More than 6,000 at ex-POW memorial opening

More than 6,000 people have attended the opening of a memorial honouring nearly 35,000
Australian ex-prisoners of war in regional Victoria.

Australian Defence Force Chief General PETER COSGROVE, Governor General MICHAEL JEFFERY
and Victorian Premier STEVE BRACKS joined ex-POWs, family and friends for the unveiling
