AVL: Sourcing engine parts in China remains a challenge.(News)(dialogue with Jiang Hong )(Interview)

Jiang Hong is director of sales in China for AVL List. The privately owned Austrian company designs engines and provides testing technology to Chinese and non-Chinese automakers in China. AVL expects its 2006 China revenue to grow by about 10 percent to about [euro]63 million compared with 2005.

Chinese carmakers still have far to go when it comes to components requiring lots of experience or high technology, Jiang says. He spoke to Automotive News Europe China Bureau Chief Alysha Webb about Chinese suppliers' maturity level.
